I am here to help you find your way - with empathy, understanding and an individual approach tailored to your personal needs and your spaces.
My journey to become a professional organizer started when I was going through my divorce. I was so exhausted and overwhelmed by my marital home; there were hundreds of toys, dozens of piles of disorganized clutter, and messes everywhere I looked. I would sometimes work for hours trying to clean and organize and take care of all of the stuff... but with two young kids, it was often trashed again in very short order. I became frustrated, sad, and resentful. I felt like I was failing my family and couldn't manage to get ahead- I was constantly drowning in too many tasks and too much stuff.
When the time came for me to move into my new home, I was determined not to let all of the mess creep back in and stress me out. I started watching videos about cleaning routines, but quickly realized that wasn't the only issue I needed to tackle in order to maintain my home. Even though I was cleaning all the time, my house was getting messy. I started watching YouTube videos by Dana K. White (aslobcomesclean.com), Dawn at The Minimal Mom (theminimalmom.com) and Cas Aarsen (clutterbug.com). I am not a minimalist, by any stretch of the imagination, but I learned SO MUCH from these ladies. They opened my eyes to a lot of different sides of the organization world.
I am now a certified organization specialist, having completed the online courses of Cas Aarsen, AKA "Clutterbug", who has been a professional organizer for more than 15 years. I have learned that I'm a highly visual, macro-type organizer, and I have set up zones and spaces in my new home accordingly. With just 15-20 minutes of cleaning per day and a single load of laundry, my home keeps itself, and I can keep my sanity intact!
This doesn't mean I don't still do a Saturday deep-clean or declutter... I absolutely do. But the systems I've implemented for daily headaches like laundry and dishes and where everything in my home is stored? Those things are game changers. I have more time to enjoy my life and be present with my kids, instead of always feeling rushed and stressed.
It is now my dream to help others build a toolbox of skils for decluttering, organizing, and maintaining their homes without the stress and frustration, so that others can find the peace and joy in their homes that I have in mine.
If you are ready to take the first step in a new direction, get in touch with me.
I will support you in gaining control over your the mess and help get your home set up with systems that you can maintain with ease. Let's get on the road to a happier, more functional, peaceful home for you and your family!
